Bitstamp: Important update — new crypto deposit rejection rules effective August 18, 2026

PSA, I’ve received this e-mail from Bitstamp:

To comply with regulatory requirements, we are introducing automated deposit controls effective August 18, 2026.

What’s changing: Third-party deposits from unhosted wallets exceeding EUR 1,000 are not permitted. Any such deposit will be automatically rejected by our system — you will no longer need to manually reject third-party deposits yourself.

Deposits received from other exchanges are not affected by this change.

What you need to do: Please note that third-party deposits from unhosted wallets exceeding EUR 1,000 are not permitted and will be automatically rejected by our system. To arrange for the return of these rejected funds, please reach out to our support team at support@bitstamp.net.

If you have questions about how this affects your account, please contact support@bitstamp.net.

Thank you for choosing Bitstamp by Robinhood. – The Bitstamp by Robinhood Team
