The OLED screens in older Ledger Nano S devices often become very dim or fail after a few years, but they are relatively easy to replace with inexpensive third-party screens sold online. Given the recent reports of counterfeit and tampered hardware wallets, could these replacement OLED modules themselves be malicious or modified to compromise a Ledger? For example, could a tampered display capture the recovery phrase, PIN, or transaction details, or manipulate what is shown on the screen? submitted by /u/Own_Entertainer_8330 |
