TLDR

- Early gains faded as XRPN stock experienced volatile trading during its first session.
- Evernorth entered public markets holding approximately 473 million XRP, valued at roughly $657 million.

- Former Coinbase investment executive Hugo Jeandesboz will lead Evernorth’s active XRP treasury strategy.
Evernorth Holdings began trading on Nasdaq on October 12, giving investors a new way to follow XRP through shares. XRPN stock gained about 5% during its debut and briefly advanced 13.43% before losing most of that increase.
Armada Acquisition Corp. II, XRPN
The session brought Evernorth into public markets after a completed merger. Unlike direct XRP ownership, its shares represent a stake in a company that holds and manages the cryptocurrency.
XRPN Stock Pulls Back After Early Jump
Trading turned uneven after the advance. Reports showed the shares about 1.5% higher later in the session, although that figure did not establish the final closing price. The wide swing showed how quickly trading levels changed.
The listing followed Evernorth’s merger with Armada Acquisition Corp. II, a special purpose acquisition company. Shareholders approved the transaction on September 30. An administrative delay to the Nasdaq debut moved trading from October 8 to October 12. The companies completed their merger on October 9.
Evernorth Begins With 473 Million XRP
At closing, Evernorth held approximately 473 million XRP. At $1.39 per token, those holdings were worth about $657 million. The company reported nearly $300 million in gross cash proceeds before expenses, according to its October 9 announcement.
Ripple, Arrington Capital, SBI Group, Pantera Capital, Kraken and GSR supported the transaction. Evernorth says it will pursue lending, liquidity provision and other market strategies to increase XRP held per share, rather than simply retaining its existing holdings.
The launch also follows recent selling pressure across XRP markets. XRP traded near $1.46 last week as derivatives traders weighed short positions. XRP price changes can also affect XRPN stock through the market value of Evernorth’s treasury.
New Investment Access Comes With Risks
Evernorth appointed Hugo Jeandesboz as chief investment officer on October 12. The former Coinbase Asset Management co-chief investment officer will oversee treasury allocation, liquidity and active management alongside the company’s leadership.
The listing gives stock investors XRP exposure without requiring cryptocurrency wallets. However, XRPN stock can trade above or below the value of the underlying assets. The recent XRP Ledger security disclosure also drew attention to network risks; developers patched the flaw before publication and reported no known exploitation.
Evernorth expects to ring Nasdaq’s closing bell on October 14. Future company reports should show how it allocates cash, manages risk, and measures its goal of increasing XRP per share.
