Market data showed a daily loss, but with some gains in intraday trading. TradingView’s daily chart was bearish, and the money-flow indicator was bearish. The latest readings focused on local levels of support and their level of strength, as well as how strong the recovery would be.
Gold remains below earlier trading levels
Gold was trading at $4,133.00, up $7.52, or 0.18%, as of the last bell on Investing.com. The prices were lower than $4,180 before reaching the latest reading. The graph also contains a few short-lived rebounds in the decline. But those recoveries have not been enough to bring the trading range back to its previous levels.

Gold touched back this price zone after a short testing move, but the trend continued. The new increase pushed prices back up to $4,133. The movement was an upswing from the lowest point in the session, but did not form a lasting upward movement.
The technical chart shows a broader downward trend
Gold price had risen from $16.40 to $4,124.52 at the time of the chart on the TradingView Daily chart. It had a price drop in its history, dropping from prices above $ 5,200 in March. It then proceeded through a number of lower trading ranges before coming back to levels around $4,100 in October.
Gold also saw a resurgence in August as prices rose toward $4,600. But the progress was reversed during September when sales resumed. Source: TradingView
Prices then trended toward $4,200 and remained within a fairly tight range in October. The latest daily candle showed a high of $4,147.10 and a low of $4,111.60.
Chaikin Money Flow – Traders saw the same chart on TradingView with a reading of -0.06 for the Chaikin Money Flow. Under this indicator calculation, selling pressure in the market did not exceed buying. The temperature was still below freezing at the latest measurement. However, the direction of the indicator cannot be used to determine prices in the future.
TradingEconomics records further intraday volatility
Gold’s price in the TradingEconomics chart was $4,122.20, a $18.70, or 0.45% decrease on the daily chart. The five-minute chart showed the price of the stock bouncing back and forth between $4,110 and $4,150. The movements demonstrated that gold was making rapid movements within the session.
The price dropped from about $4,148 and then rallied back up to $4,145 in the early part of the period shown. Source: TradingEconomics
Gold later drifted down to $4,120 as a further plunge was experienced. The market then bounced around that level again, followed by short rebounds. Prices pushed higher towards $4,130 near the right side of the chart and pulled back.
The prices and percentage changes shown were different on the three platforms due to the difference in snapshots and the chart settings. They should thus be considered as independent readings, and not market prices. However, the three charts all positioned gold in their immediate vicinity at the $4,100 to $4,150 level.
Nearby support and resistance remain in focus
The charts were hovering at the lower end of the trading range in recent times and placed a 4,110-4,120 range there. This could be a focus point should prices drop further. Any break below the range may lead to more selling of gold. The provided charts, however, do not validate a breakdown below the support level.
The positive side is that $4,140 to $4,150 is a close range where traders can keep an eye on. Gold will have to break up above this range and continue to hold that level to show a better short-term rally. The daily chart also revealed that trading was around the $4,200 level earlier this week, which offers another reference level.
The charts currently available do not show or define how much or what causes the market to move into negative territory or what direction to go next. Traders can keep an eye on price action, trading volume, and money flow readings for extra signals. Other factors that can affect the price of gold include economic releases, interest-rate anticipation and the movement of the US dollar.
The decline needs to be confirmed separately before it is possible to explain it with the above-mentioned factors. As of press time, gold was trading around $4,120 to $4,133 on the chart snapshots provided. Daily price action was stuck in a downward trend, and intraday rebounds continued to demonstrate price volatility.
