Nebius Stock Rallies After Revenue Beat

Nebius said its AI cloud business generated $575 million in second-quarter revenue. That figure was six times higher than the quarter in 2025. The company trades on Nasdaq under the ticker NBIS.

Adjusted EBITDA reached $236 million during the quarter. Nebius had reported an adjusted EBITDA loss of $21 million one year earlier. However, the company posted a $190 million net loss from continuing operations.

The year-earlier quarter included net income of $502 million. That result benefited from a gain tied to the revaluation of equity investments. The quarter showed stronger operating performance despite the net loss.

AI Cloud Business Drives Growth

Nebius focuses on cloud infrastructure built for artificial intelligence and high-performance computing. Demand for these services drove quarterly sales growth. Its AI cloud unit accounted for nearly all revenue.

For the first half of 2026, Nebius reported revenue of $981 million. That marked a 529% increase from the same period in 2025. The company expanded capacity to meet demand.

Capital Spending Jumps Sharply

Nebius increased purchases of property, equipment, and intangible assets to $5.66 billion during the quarter. That compared with $511 million in the second quarter of 2025.

The rise in spending reflects the company’s buildout of AI computing infrastructure. Nebius has been expanding data center capacity as customers seek AI computing resources.

Short sellers held positions covering 60.2 million Nebius shares in late July. Those positions represented roughly close to 30% of the stock’s float.

Michael Burry disclosed a short position in Nebius last week at $211.77 per share. The Nebius stock rally may have forced some short sellers to buy shares and close losing positions. That buying can increase upward price moves during a short squeeze.
