A copied Bitcoin address still needs verification. Clipboard malware can replace copied text, and an address copied from transaction history might belong to someone else. Compare the destination in your wallet with the address from the recipient through a trusted channel, including on the hardware device when one is used.
If anything differs, stop before signing. A small test transfer can help check a route, but it doesn’t replace checking the destination of the next transfer.
