NEAR Price Prediction: 13% Rally and Token Supply Cut Proposal Put $6 in Focus

NEAR rose 12.6% over the latest 24-hour period to approximately $5.93, extending its seven-day gain to 21.4%. Trading volume was near $1.18 billion, according to CoinGecko.

The move puts $6 within reach, while bringing the token close to the more consequential near-term technical hurdle at $6.14. Strong daily and weekly performance does not make the short-term picture uniformly bullish, given the bearish hourly MACD signal and an RSI approaching overbought territory.

Fundamentally, a formal NEAR proposal would gradually lower maximum annual issuance from 2.5% to 1.6% over 24 months. The proposed change is not binding unless validators adopt it, yet it has added a potentially constructive supply-side narrative as the market tests whether the rally can hold.

NEAR’s hourly RSI and MACD

NEAR’s short-term setup is mixed. The market gained 12.6% over 24 hours and 21.4% over seven days, with near-$1.18 billion in 24-hour volume, showing positive momentum and substantial trading activity during the advance.

At the same time, the hourly 14-period RSI was 66.94 on October 12, according to CoinStats. The reading remains below the conventional 70 overbought threshold but is close enough to suggest that the advance is becoming stretched.

The hourly MACD was bearish: its 0.114834 line sat below the 0.121787 signal line, according to CoinStats. That points to weakening short-term momentum despite the positive one-day and seven-day performance.

These readings do not establish a broader trend reversal or determine NEAR’s next move. For the immediate price outlook, they instead raise the prospect of consolidation or a pullback before further upside.

NEAR support and resistance

At a $5.93 spot price, the nearest reported support is the $5.50-$5.60 zone. That band is the first area to watch if sellers take control after the latest advance. Holding it would preserve the short-term breakout structure described in the technical coverage; losing it would weaken the case that buyers remain in command of the current move.

The first upside test is $6.14, identified by Blockspot as primary daily pivot resistance. The editor’s $6 threshold is close to current spot, but $6.14 is the supplied technical level that a sustained move would need to clear to demonstrate that buyers can absorb nearby overhead supply.

The next reported resistance area above that pivot is $6.80-$7.00, according to the same CoinStats technical coverage that identified the nearby support zone. It is a later hurdle, not an assumption that follows automatically from a move above $6 or $6.14.

On the downside, a failure to retain $5.50-$5.60 would put attention on $4.88, the reported weekly breakout base. The distance between those levels underlines why the first support zone matters: it is the closest supplied reference point for judging whether the rally is merely consolidating or losing its short-term structure.

These are scenario levels rather than certainty. A hold at support does not guarantee another advance, and a test of resistance does not ensure a breakout. But with spot near $5.93, $5.50-$5.60 and $6.14 frame the most immediate decision area for traders following the move.

Can NEAR reach $6?

NEAR can test and trade above $6 under the current setup because it was already approximately $5.93 at the observation point. The more demanding question is whether it can establish upside beyond that round-number threshold. On the supplied technical evidence, that case would be strengthened by a move through $6.14 and an improvement in the bearish hourly MACD relationship, while the RSI remains below 70.

The proposed issuance change gives the rally a separate narrative beyond price momentum. The formal draft calls for a 24-month reduction in maximum annual issuance from 2.5% to 1.6%, while retaining the 90/10 staker-treasury split. It estimates 11.8 million fewer NEAR issued over two years and 66.1 million over six years, according to the NEAR Governance Forum proposal.

That proposal should not be treated as an implemented supply reduction. The draft explicitly says validator adoption is required before the change becomes binding. Until then, its relevance to the market is prospective: it may shape sentiment around future issuance, but it does not alter token emissions on its own.

There is also current activity behind the proposal’s wider thesis that Intents can support protocol revenue and token demand. The official NEAR Revenue Dashboard reported $159.65 million in confidential-pool TVL, up 384.4% over 90 days, while the official NEAR Intents site reported more than $33 billion in all-time volume across 36 chains. Those figures describe platform activity; they do not by themselves establish a price outcome.

The conditional NEAR price prediction is therefore constructive but constrained. The latest 12.6% daily rise, 21.4% weekly gain and proposed issuance ramp supply support for continued market interest. A durable move above $6 would look more credible if NEAR clears $6.14 rather than stalls below it. Conversely, sustained bearish hourly momentum or a break below the $5.50-$5.60 support zone would weaken the immediate upside case and shift focus back toward the $4.88 breakout base.
