What should I look fortest on a waveshare hat?

With all the hacks lately in the BTC ecosystem, I’m a little bit paranoid. This week I purchased a Pi zero 1.3 from Adafruit and a Waveshare display hat directly from Waveshare – it is shipped from China.

I am making a Seedsigner. Are they ways to test the hardware to make sure it is genuine or has not been altered such as you can do with software signatures? What should I look for physically?
