Sigma Lithium Extends $100M Debt Maturity to June 2027

Sigma Lithium secured a six-month extension on its $100 million senior secured debt facility with Synergy Capital. The agreement moves the repayment deadline from December 2026 to June 2027 without changing the existing interest rate. Moreover, the facility retains its annual interest rate of SOFR plus 6.95%, alongside existing covenants and default provisions.

The revised schedule extends the maturity of approximately 93% of the company’s debt to June 2027. Sigma Lithium gains additional time to generate operating cash flow before meeting its repayment obligations. The agreement also supports the company’s production recovery following its recent operational restart in Brazil.

Sigma Lithium has reduced its debt obligations significantly over the past two years through operating cash generation. Since the second quarter of 2024, the company has repaid more than $90 million in outstanding debt. As a result, total debt declined approximately 40% to $125 million as of October 21, 2026.

Sigma Lithium Restarts Production and Targets 330,000 Tonnes

Sigma Lithium resumed operations on October 5 after a Brazilian federal court reinstated its environmental licenses. Since restarting production, the company produced 7,090 tonnes of lithium oxide concentrate through October 22. This output marks progress in restoring operations after the earlier interruption.

Sigma Lithium maintains its annualized production target of 330,000 tonnes by the end of 2027. The company plans to use its existing Cleantech Industrial Plant and recycling circuits to support higher production volumes. Additionally, management expects stronger production and current lithium prices to support operating cash flow.

Sigma Lithium will release its third-quarter 2026 operating and financial figures by November 13. The upcoming report will cover production volumes, sales, realized lithium prices, operating costs, and cash balances. These figures will provide further details about the company’s financial position and production performance before its next repayment deadline.

Sigma Lithium Expands Economic Contribution in Brazil

Beyond production, Sigma Lithium maintains a significant economic presence in Brazil’s Jequitinhonha Valley. The company reports supporting approximately 19,000 jobs and 80,000 family members across its regional operations. Furthermore, its activities span 12 municipalities and contribute to local employment and business development.

Regional economic figures show substantial growth in municipalities surrounding Sigma Lithium’s operations. Araçuaí recorded 123% growth in GDP per capita, while Itinga registered a 110% increase. Additionally, the region recorded 9,410 new business registrations between January 2023 and March 2026.
